Our residency program invites artists to spend two weeks immersed in their work in the heart of Vermont’s Green Mountains on the bucolic Creative Campus. Artists, artisans, and writers can produce prints, books, posters, and anything else they dream up while utilizing our facilities, which are open all day, every day, exclusively for our artists in residence. Artists, artisans, and writers are encouraged to apply individually or to explore the art of collaboration with one another.

In addition to unlimited time in our studio, residents are provided with housing on the studio property, which is in close walking distance to Plainfield’s village. All meals are provided on campus, including basket lunch delivered to your studio. Montpelier is full of local gems including Blossom Wellness Yoga, Oakes and Evelyn, Butch Spieler Records, Hepcat HiFi, Ondis, the Savoy Theatre, and more—not to mention countless hiking and mountain biking trails in every direction. And if you’re here in the winter months, many of the nation’s best mountains for skiing and snowboarding are only 45 minutes away, and you can snowshoe, and cross country ski out your back door. Regardless of the season, be sure to book a soak at the magical Rootstock retreat center in the pristine Northeast Kingdom.
